Expert puts Gazprom costs on local software switching at 180 bln rbl
MOSCOW, Mar 23 (PRIME) -- Transition of Russia’s Gazprom to local software may cost the natural gas giant 170 billion to 180 billion rubles, and the move should be gradual, Artyom Tuzov, executive director of the capital market department at investment company Univer Capital, told PRIME on Tuesday.
“Given that the products will be purchased wholesale, the companies could give big discounts for the buyer and then ensure sustainable functioning and updating of their software. In such conditions, probably, the transition will cost about 170–180 billion rubles,” Tuzov said.
Media reported earlier that Gazprom put its costs on moving to preferably local software at 180 billion rubles. CEO Alexei Miller said in a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin that the current version of the president’s decree creates the risk of a heavy one-time financial load and could worsen Gazprom’s performance. The company wants a deadline for the switch to local software removed from the document.
